Huang Guoliang, Director of the Quality Development Bureau of the State Administration for Market Regulation, said that in the future, no matter how new energy develops, internal combustion engines are indispensable to production and life. In the process of internal combustion engine reliability research, we should not only pay attention to speed and passion, but also pay attention to safety and rationality.

At present, there are some views in the industry that new energy will replace traditional energy, and traditional energy may withdraw in the future. In response, Tan Xuguang, director of the National Laboratory for Internal Combustion Engine Reliability, said that new energy will become an important part of the world's energy structure in the future. In the expected 30-50 years, the diesel engine is irreplaceable. It is expected that there will be a considerable period of hybrid transition within the city. Heavy trucks are also unlikely to be replaced by new energy vehicles.

"The internal combustion engine is the core power source in the industrial field, and it will still play an irreplaceable important role for a long time in the future." Tan Xuguang stressed.

In the important process of China's economic transformation from high-speed growth to high-quality development and manufacturing, the research and breakthrough of internal combustion engine reliability and key common technologies have increasingly become the focus of the industry. Reliability is one of the important indicators to measure the quality of internal combustion engine, which determines the product quality and core competitiveness.

However, Tan Xuguang said frankly that there is still a big gap between Chinese internal combustion engine companies and European and American countries, and domestic consumers' awareness of rights protection is not strong. At present, the national six phase of the emission warranty period and effective life put forward higher requirements, and strengthen the OBD (on-board diagnostic system) supervision, high-speed logistics vehicles, trunk logistics vehicles higher requirements, the reliability of the internal combustion engine will usher in a qualitative leap.

It is understood that the National Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine Reliability is an enterprise national laboratory in my country's internal combustion engine industry. Since its establishment in 2015, it has invested more than 1000 million yuan in funding 40 open projects to support universities and scientific research institutes to carry out basic theoretical research on internal combustion engine reliability. And pre-competitive common technology research, in the engine thermal fatigue technology, mechanical fatigue technology, friction and wear technology, sealing technology, reliability prediction technology, fault online diagnosis technology and other key common technologies related to the reliability of internal combustion engines have achieved fruitful results.

"The National Laboratory for Reliability of Internal Combustion Engines has carried out fruitful work in foreign cooperation, has carried out more than 40 open projects, and this year has received nearly 60 more project applications from all over the world. At present, the national laboratory's open cooperation mechanism and technical exchange atmosphere have basically taken shape." Wen Xueyou, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said.

Tan Xuguang said that there are still short boards in China's engines, especially high-speed engines. As the supporting unit of the internal combustion engine reliability laboratory, Weichai is actively promoting products to the world, especially in military-civilian integration, hoping to achieve a breakthrough within 3-5 years.

It is understood that in 2018, Weichai achieved sales revenue of 236 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7%; profit of 13.9 billion yuan, an increase of 30%, profit growth is much higher than revenue growth, and achieved high-quality development. Tan Xuguang revealed that Weichai will continue to increase investment in research and development in the future, closely focusing on the core business of engines, based on global resources, and focusing on strengthening the main business of equipment manufacturing.
